House Committee Nominations & Elections Process
For House Committee Nominations please take note of the rules and process:
1. Nominations
-
Only 1 nomination is required per candidate.
-
The nominator must be a student in the same residence/cluster as the candidate.
-
Each nomination requires only 1 seconder, who must also be from the same residence/cluster.
-
A candidate can receive up to 3 nominations, but more than 1 does not increase their chances.
2. After Nominations Close
-
All nominated candidates will be vetted by the institution.
-
A preliminary list of eligible candidates for each residence will be published.
3. Voting
-
All eligible candidates form a pool for their residence/cluster.
-
Students in that residence vote for their preferred candidates from the pool of eligible candidates.
-
The candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be allocated House Committee positions for their residence / cluster.
4. Portfolio Allocation
-
The number of positions available depends on the number of students in that residence/cluster (see the House Committee Elections Constitution).
-
Portfolios are allocated by highest number votes and the number of positions available for that residence.
